The GCO is an exciting and rewarding means of being continuously involved in life-changing, world missions work. This is missions giving (in a systematic, sacrificial way) over and above our tithes and other offerings. GCO also sponsors mission trips, special projects, provides needed Vocational Ministry Scholarships, Children's Missions Savings Bonds, and MissionFest. Your giving impacts local, North America and World people in all walk of life.
Welcome to Westside’s missions and outreach website. This is just one of many ‘doors’ through which you may enter to learn about the work we do in the world around us, to glorify Him. As the back-to-school and fall seasons approach, we are eager to turn our attention to sharing His love with others near and far, in intentional and strategic ways.
At Westside, we believe God has given us the mandate to “bring the hope of Christ to all people.” We do that with a focused plan that involves 13 partnership groups or agencies around the world. Each year, nearly 200 Westside staff, lay volunteers, and affiliated ‘friends’ such as medical professionals, educators, and construction specialists, travel to more than a dozen countries around the globe. that we endeavor to plant. In sending his son, God served as the ultimate example of sacrificial giving in order to share His message with others. Jesus himself also said,
You will be my witnesses to the farthest parts of the world (Acts 1:8)
Also, continuing to strengthen our outreach work and to begin new partnerships, including one in Greece, are among our top goals for our church family in 2007. As we envision how we and our network of partners and friends can magnify God’s work, we invite you to join us. Missions outreach can put you close to the heart of God. It’s also an exciting and significant way to share yourself with others whom you otherwise might never meet or befriend. I invite you to explore how you can awaken yourself to God’s presence in your life, by considering going on a outreach trip, giving to make missions possible, or by praying to make our global goals a reality.
